Winter Walk Day 2019 breaks a record!
Thank you to all the Winter Walk Day champions who celebrated walking and wheeling to school in winter and registered their events with us!
A whopping 469 schools from 52 different school boards participated from 85 different towns and cities across the province. That’s approximately 130,000 students getting active to school!
Winter Walk Day is celebrated by schools across the province on the first Wednesday of February each year. Walking and wheeling to and from school is fun every day. We encourage you to journey outside throughout the entire month of February!
A great way to celebrate is by holding an event in your school community. These activity ideas and resources will help in planning and promoting Winter Walk Day (WWD) events:

Register your school community activities for a chance to win a prize
Events and activities can happen throughout the month of February: once, twice, or many times! They can be group walks, school assemblies, hot-chocolate meet and greets – the ways to celebrate walking and wheeling in the winter are limitless.
Registered schools receive a Certificate of Recognition and are entered into a random draw for prizes!
